Facial Plastic Surgery
Our physicians partner with area dermatologists who Mohs Micrographic Surgery on skin cancers to reconstruct facial defects arising these procedure. After skin cancers are removed from the face, surgical defects can permanently alter the normal contour and aesthetic appearance of the patient.
We pride ourselves on timely, meticulous, and cosmetically superior reconstructions of skin cancer defects, employing techniques such as local reconstructions of surgical defects of the nose, lips, and facial skin. Our physicians are well trained in such techniques as paramedian forehead flap reconstructions of nasal defects, complex lip reconstructions, and simple local reconstructions of skin cancer defects that can be performed under local anesthesia.
Finally, facial trauma from motor vehicle collisions and blunt trauma is common in our practice. This includes nasal bone and nasal septal fractures, auricular trauma, fractures of the facial skeleton, mandibular fractures and sinus fractures. Our goal in treating facial trauma is to return the patient to their pre-injury appearance and function.
